Podcast: Before they ruled MTV, Def Leppard were raw, hungry, and loud. We went back to High and Dry—and it might be Def Leppard’s most important album.
This is my favorite Def Leppard album, by far. I discovered Def Leppard at age 11 in 1988 - via Hysteria - and immediately bought all of their albums, and by age 13 or 14, this had easily solidified as my favorite of theirs. Love the guitar tones, riffs and arrangements. This is the last time the band sounded like 5 guys in a room playing.
Hugh n Dry will always remain my favorite Def Leppard album (its also the first album I bought by them back in 81) It lead to me going to see Def Leppard on the Pyromania tour with Billy Squier in 83 (i think?) Great write up as usual my friend
