A deep dive into the quirks, wit, and genre-blurring sound of an indie rock landmark that redefined 90s alternative music with its mix of jangly guitars, offbeat melodies, and sharp lyrics
I mentioned the Pavement / internet connection in the episode because I thought the same thing! I wonder if we were eon the same listserv back in the mid-'90s! But yes, Pavement was one of the early bands to grow a healthy digital community (it might sound like a tiny community these days, but back then VERY few people regularly interacted with the internet yet).
I bet we were. I found out so much from that group of people. My favorite thing was travelling Europe and getting cool recommendations. Tapes or burned CD bootlegs of shows was another perk.
My favorite!!
