Ian was exposed to music from a young age through his parents: The Beatles, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Dire Straits, and Rod Stewart. In March of 1990, he began his own dark journey of musical discovery with the release of Depeche Mode’s seminal album, Violator. Though his best friend in university , Mr R.O.D. (also known at the time as DJ Bacchus for the university’s industrial music radio program, Shockwaves), Ian continued to explore and love industrial and goth music.

His favourite bands include: Depeche Mode, Front Line Assembly, Skinny Puppy, Recoil, Nitzer Ebb, Front 242, Nine Inch Nails, The Cure, Pink Floyd, Rush, Tool, and the legendary David Bowie.

Ian has one son, and a wife who is approaching her wits’ end over his music collection and closet of “f$@king black concert t-shirts!”
